Spawn
Spawn is the central hub of the server, and it is where players go to interact with most of the server's features like maps and challenges. Running "/spawn" will bring the player to spawn.1

Central Spawn Area
Spawn is broken up into several areas. The area players reach when running "/spawn", and the area new players spawn in, is the central spawn area. From here, players can take one of twelve drop downs to go to different content on the server. There are also areas accessible only from the central spawn area, reached by walking towards a corner of the area.
There are four spawn areas accessed by walking towards a corner of spawn on the ground floor. These locations are:
- New Player Information
- New Map Releases
- Map of the Week
- Blues Hangout Room
There are also two spawn locations accessed by walking up the stairs to the second floor corner areas. These are:
- Artifacts
- Spawn Credits
There are twelve spawn drop downs which lead to most of the server's content. These are:
- Hardcore
- Parkour
- Dropper
- Legacy
- Maze
- Events
- ???
- Puzzle
- Search
- Challenges
- Adventure
- Co-op
New Player Information
The New Player Information section of spawn is where players joining for the first time load into the server. This is where players get a brief history of the server, info about the server's setup, server rules, and general starting commands on signs.
There are two specific teleports located in the New Player Information area. The first leads to the FAQ Quiz, a quiz made to check that the player understands the server's structure and rules. The second leads to the old FAQ, which explains the checkpoint and map mechanics of the server. A sign in the middle also encourages the server to check out the Server Rules Wiki page, a page listing all of the server's rules in detail.

New Map Releases
The New Map Releases area of spawn features the nine most recent maps that have been published. The signs contain information on the map, such as:
- The map name (e.g. Stockpile).
- The map's difficulty, indicated by both the text and concrete color (e.g. White/Very Easy).
- The genre of the map (e.g. Pure Parkour).
- The map's publish date (e.g. 12 Nov. 2025).
- The map's creators (e.g. duckle and masts).
Map of the Week
The Map of the Week area in spawn features a random new map on the server every week. The map receives a custom-built area made by Visuumii when featured. Despite being mostly random, the chosen Map of the Week tends to avoid choosing the same creators too often to feature a wider variety of maps.
Blues Hangout Room
Only Blues can enter this section of spawn. This area mainly serves as a place exclusive to Blue ranked players, with a few references to Hardcore and other maps.
Artifacts
Found in the upper south-west corner of spawn, Artifacts are a system added for the server's 15th anniversary. Hidden server crown heads in different maps will give players server trivia. Reaching different thresholds of Artifacts found rewards the player with cosmetics. This corner of spawn is the only current way to open the trivia lists. For more information on Artifacts, refer to the Artifacts page.
Spawn Credits
The Spawn Credits area features the credits for Star Spawn. There are eight NPCs that can be talked to for their contributions and special thanks signs. All NPC blurbs were written by wavelyte, the Star Spawn Project Lead.
Spawn Teleport Buttons
Throughout spawn are buttons that, when clicked, list out all of the major areas of spawn. Players can click any of the options listed to teleport to that spawn area, including the Central Spawn Area. These are normally near where the player teleports into an area or in pink sections of these areas. The pink sections also feature Frequently Asked Questions about maps or challenges, depending on the area.
Parkour, Maze, Puzzle, and Adventure Areas
Each of these areas are structured the same, so they have been grouped together. Dropping into any of these will teleport the player to a hallway. Walking forward will take the player to maps of solely that drop's genre (e.g. dropping into the Puzzle section and walking forward will take players to maps solely about puzzles). Turning around and entering the room on the other side of the hallway leads to Mixed maps, or maps with one primary genre and other sub-genres within it.2 In the hallway itself, players can see small scale builds of FFA+ maps of that genre in the archways. The maps on higher floors typically are more challenging, and each map build has a blurb describing the map itself when stepped into.
The large rooms on either end of the genre hallway are FFA rooms, which feature all pure or mixed maps of that genre depending on which side the player enters. Maps in these rooms are separated by difficulty, with very easy maps being the closest to the entrance. The pink section of these rooms feature Frequently Asked Questions about maps and a button to teleport to a different spawn area.
Dropper, Search, and Co-op Areas
These three drop downs are structured similarly, so they are grouped together here. Each of these teleport the player into a room on the second floor. The second floor contains the small scale map builds for FFA+ maps, each with a chat description of the map when walked inside. The first floor contains all FFA maps of the genre, separated by difficulty. Pink sections in these rooms feature Frequently Asked Questions about maps and a button to teleport to a different spawn area.
The Co-op section has a unique area on the first floor for racing maps, or maps that are good for racing against friends. This section uses white and gray concrete to look like a finish line and contains maps of all difficulties.
Hardcore Area
The Hardcore section is a long hallway featuring all of the information the player needs to know about Hardcore. This hallway is also where blues go to get blue rank unlockables. These include the Minr Tour, Mount Minr, and Delta. There are also two quiz maps linked to in this area used to unlock areas. Beating FAQ Quiz is one of the requirements for entering Hardcore, and the Delta FAQ Quiz is required for Blues who have reached The Gauntlet/final section of Hardcore to access Delta.
Legacy Area
The Legacy is unique in that it is not a section of spawn but a location that spawn now links to directly. It is a location for maps of historical importance so they are still accessible, even if the maps in the area are removed from FFA due to Denomination Ballots.
Events Area
The Events area of spawn features teleports and builds to several areas related to server events. One of the most prominent server events, Beep Test, is accessed by entering its area in this section of spawn. This area also contains warps to several oddball locations that do not fit anywhere else, such as the Minigame Hub, Capture The Flag, and Desert Bus.
Challenges Area
The Challenges area of spawn teleports the player into the center of a large room with four raised corners. The hallway sections in this area give general information about challenges, common modifiers, and contain most challenge join signs. For more information regarding challenges, go to the challenges page.
There are two warps in the Non-FFA Maps quadrant that lead to other locations: Mount Minr and Mimic.
??? Area
This area teleports the player back to the center of the Central Spawn Area.
Special Archway Decorations
In sections that feature FFA+ maps with archways, several maps have archway decorations. These typically change the block at the top of the archway and give a description of what award the map received. Maps that won competitions typically get a crown head on top as well. Maps have received archway decorations for the following events:
- Being a map in Hardcore, typically noted with crying obsidian.
- Winning or being a nominee for Map of the Year.
- Winning or being a runner up for Maze Competition 2017–2018.
- Winning or being a runner up for Adventure Competition 2018.
- Winning or being a runner up for Puzzle Competition 2020.
- Winning or being a runner up for Maze Competition 20201.
- Winning Minr MapJam 2022.
Trivia
- The Race Maps in the Co-op section are not labeled internally as co-op maps. This is because you do not need two players to beat a race map.
- The Legacy area spawns the player into a partially destroyed recreation of the Frequently Asked Questions area seen in older spawns, such as Desert Spawn.
- Map archways can have stacked blocks of awards the map has received above the entrance. One example of this is The Gwishin in the Search area, which has awards for both being a runner up for Map of the Year and being in Hardcore.
- There is an FFA map hidden in spawn, Wave's Caves.
Notes
- There are a few edge cases where running "/spawn" will not bring the player to spawn. One such case is for maps where most commands are disabled. These include Frienemy and Vares Sert.
- While the Parkour, Maze, Puzzle sections all have mixed genre areas, Adventure does not. Since the adventure genre is mainly about combining several other map types, there is no such thing as a pure or mixed adventure map. For more info, see the Map Types and Explanations page.
