The central area of Spawn during Christmas.

Spawn is the central hub of the server, and it is where players go to interact with most of the server's features like maps and challenges. Running "/spawn" will bring the player to spawn.1

Central Spawn Area

Spawn is broken up into several areas. The area players reach when running "/spawn", and the area new players spawn in, is the central spawn area. From here, players can take one of twelve drop downs to go to different content on the server. There are also areas accessible only from the central spawn area, reached by walking towards a corner of the area.

There are four spawn areas accessed by walking towards a corner of spawn on the ground floor. These locations are:

  • New Player Information
  • New Map Releases
  • Map of the Week
  • Blues Hangout Room

There are also two spawn locations accessed by walking up the stairs to the second floor corner areas. These are:

  • Artifacts
  • Spawn Credits

There are twelve spawn drop downs which lead to most of the server's content. These are:

  • Hardcore
  • Parkour
  • Dropper
  • Legacy
  • Maze
  • Events
  • ???
  • Puzzle
  • Search
  • Challenges
  • Adventure
  • Co-op

New Player Information

The New Player Information section of spawn is where players joining for the first time load into the server. This is where players get a brief history of the server, info about the server's setup, server rules, and general starting commands on signs.

There are two specific teleports located in the New Player Information area. The first leads to the FAQ Quiz, a quiz made to check that the player understands the server's structure and rules. The second leads to the old FAQ, which explains the checkpoint and map mechanics of the server. A sign in the middle also encourages the server to check out the Server Rules Wiki page, a page listing all of the server's rules in detail.

New Map Releases

The New Map Releases area of spawn features the nine most recent maps that have been published. The signs contain information on the map, such as:

  • The map name (e.g. Stockpile).
  • The map's difficulty, indicated by both the text and concrete color (e.g. White/Very Easy).
  • The genre of the map (e.g. Pure Parkour).
  • The map's publish date (e.g. 12 Nov. 2025).
  • The map's creators (e.g. duckle and masts).

Map of the Week

The Map of the Week area in spawn features a random new map on the server every week. The map receives a custom-built area made by Visuumii when featured. Despite being mostly random, the chosen Map of the Week tends to avoid choosing the same creators too often to feature a wider variety of maps.

Blues Hangout Room

Only Blues can enter this section of spawn. This area mainly serves as a place exclusive to Blue ranked players, with a few references to Hardcore and other maps.

Artifacts

Found in the upper south-west corner of spawn, Artifacts are a system added for the server's 15th anniversary. Hidden server crown heads in different maps will give players server trivia. Reaching different thresholds of Artifacts found rewards the player with cosmetics. This corner of spawn is the only current way to open the trivia lists. For more information on Artifacts, refer to the Artifacts page.

Spawn Credits

The Spawn Credits area features the credits for Star Spawn. There are eight NPCs that can be talked to for their contributions and special thanks signs. All NPC blurbs were written by wavelyte, the Star Spawn Project Lead.

Notes

  1. There are a few edge cases where running "/spawn" will not bring the player to spawn. One such case is for maps where most commands are disabled. These include Frienemy and Vares Sert.
