Artifacts are a permanent search added to Minr for the server's 15th Anniversary. The player can find Artifact player heads across a significant number of maps and spawn. Finding an artifact gives the player trivia and contributes to obtaining unique cosmetics.

The Artifact heads.

General[edit]

Artifacts are player heads that, when clicked on, gives the player trivia about the server. The trivia covers topics from general commands the player should know to server history that has since become obsolete and more.

There are five tiers of Artifacts. Gray are common, green are uncommon, blue are heroic, purple are epic, and yellow are legendary. Generally, the more difficult an Artifact is to find, the higher its rarity. Artifact rarity also slightly affects the trivia from the Artifact: common Artifacts have well known information, while legendary Artifacts have more obscure trivia.

Spawn Area[edit]

In the south-west of the main spawn area, above where New Maps are located, is the Artifacts area. This spot contains information about how Artifacts work, the different Artifact lists, signs of the different Artifact thresholds for cosmetics, and the join signs for Artifact-related challenges. A sign in this area also states how many Artifacts the player has found.

Artifact Lists[edit]

There are several signs in the Artifacts area of spawn that list Artifacts for the player. There are three different lists the player can choose from: a number order list, a list of all player-found Artifacts, and a list of all Artifacts the player is missing. Found Artifacts are listed with dim gold text, while missing Artifacts have gray text.

All three lists have two toggles that can be used. The first shows and hides the name of undiscovered Artifacts, and the second shows and hide the location of Artifacts. Artifacts will always display their rarity in the lists, even if both toggles are set to hide.

Artifact Rewards[edit]

There are two ways to get Artifact rewards. The first is to reach different thresholds of total Artifacts found, and the second is to reach different thresholds of total epic and legendary Artifacts found. To unlock all cosmetics and Artifact challenges, the player needs to find 300 total Artifacts and 40 epic or legendary Artifacts. There are 335 Artifacts, meaning the player does not need to find all of them to get every reward.

The rewards are shown in the tables below.

Artifact Challenges[edit]

There are five challenges unlocked by finding Artifacts, each of which gives a different Artifact hat when completed. The first two challenges, Chatty Date and League of Enlightenment, are Soul-Link challenges which require other players to reach the Artifact count to play. The third challenge, First of Fifteen, is a challenge containing the first map submitted each calendar year. The fourth and fifth challenges are difficult challenges that require beating map sets with limited time.

History[edit]

Previously, Chillers had an Arcade that tasked players with finding Moneybags in maps that give Arcade Credits. When transition to the current spawn, however, the casino was not transferred over, and Moneybags became obsolete. Afterwards, work was done off and on for a new version of this system called Artifacts.

rmanimal joined the project in late 2024/early 2025 and went on a spree to hide nearly 200 more locations for Artifacts to complete the project. Work was then done over the next few months to write trivia for the Artifacts and link each trivia to an Artifact. For both phases of the project, the help of several staff members was enlisted.

Most of the Artifact cosmetics are cosmetics originally made for the Arcade that were sold for around a week. For several years, these cosmetics were not obtainable. The only cosmetics that were not carried over to Artifacts were the three Sharpshooter related cosmetics.
