General

Gameplay

Fissure tasks the player with navigating a large series of valleys to reach the end of the maze.

Aesthetics

The map takes place in a connected series of fissures with tall gray rock faces. Spikes made of bedrock and blackstone jut from the walls. The ground at the bottom of the fissures is grassy and contains dead bushes and brown mushrooms.

Hardcore

Fissure appeared in both versions of Hardcore 11: 11.0 and 11.1. In both versions, Fissure was the second to last map in the ending gauntlet section. While it was in Hardcore, Fissure had no checkpoint at the start, and all damage taken in the map could not be healed until reaching Jiga's Claymaze.

Challenges

This map is featured in 5 challenges: 2021 Assortment, Dizzying Heights, Strung Together, Hexa Chapter III: New Heights, and Hexa. The mimic version of the map is also used in 3 challenges: Hardcore 11.0 (Mimic), Hardcore 11.1 (Mimic), and Painful Nostalgia.

Trivia

  • Fissure is famous for being one of, if not, the most punishing map in Hardcore 11 versions due to being a very hard rated maze near the end of a four map gauntlet including Hel, Persona, itself, and Jiga's Claymaze.
