The Nether Caves is a pure parkour map by Bird_Obsession. It rewards 12 FFA Points upon completion, and can be joined directly using “/c join tnc”.
General[edit]
Gameplay[edit]
The Nether Caves is split into two sections: the big room at the beginning, and a long endurance section where the player travels through narrow caves and chimneys.
The gameplay is generally considered a bit infuriating, as there are many headhitter jumps and 3+1s in which failure results in having to redo the whole map. The final jump is a quad jump with an iffy momentum setup, further adding to the map’s difficulty.
Aesthetics[edit]
The map has a basic nether theme, with each section having a slightly different block texture. Campfires hidden under blocks or lava are used to create a smoke effect throughout the caves, adding to the hell theme.
At the end of the map, the player is free from the caves, and they are able to see two other maps by Bird_Obsession nearby: Blazeville immediately to the left, and the final section of Incendium far off to the right.
Challenges[edit]
This map is featured in 2 challenges: Hard Parkour Pack and Hexa.
Trivia[edit]
- The Nether Caves was originally supposed to be part of a bigger map, but when said map was scrapped, The Nether Caves was reworked and made into its own map.
- Originally, there was a checkpoint before the chimney section. This was removed to make the map more endurance based.
