General[edit]
Gameplay[edit]
Rainbow Road is a speed IV effect parkour that loops in on itself. Most of the course involves two paths of near identical design that the player must run along, following the arrows to avoid triggering Lakitu. In a couple of places on the course, the player must use the star launches to reach the next section.
At the end of the map, there are three trophies with rewards inside. To get all three rewards, the player must achieve a time faster than 2 minutes.
Aesthetic[edit]
As the name suggests, the map has a heavily rainbow aesthetic. The map uses stained glass from pink to purple along with a gradient of blocks that serves as the floor. For the different colors:
- Red terracotta, red concrete powder, and fire coral blocks is used for pink
- Stripped acacia wood and smooth red sandstone is used for orange
- Yellow terracotta, horn coral blocks, and yellow concrete is used for yellow
- Lime concrete powder, melon blocks, green concrete powder, and waxed weather copper is used for lime
- Waxed oxidized copper, stripped warped hyphae, and cyan concrete powder is used for cyan
- Light blue concrete powder, light blue concrete, and blue concrete powder is used for blue
- Blue terracotta, purple concrete powder, and stripped crimson hyphae is used for purple
There is also a giant star portal in the center, stylized similarly to those in Mario Kart 8.
Challenges[edit]
The map is featured in 3 challenges: 2022 Assortment, Hexa Chapter 3: New Heights, and Hexa.
Trivia[edit]
- Lakitu is visible on the course for every different spot that functions as a respawn when falling off.
- The map has a splits option. If the player selects this, they will be told their current time twice during the course.
