Lookout is a mixed Maze map by Big_Big_So_Big and Ninja_Cat_. It rewards 7 FFA Points upon completion, and can be joined directly using “/c join look”.

General

Gameplay

Lookout consists of one large map split into four biomes for the player to search through: Ice, Desert, Nether, and End. The player is required to find eight signs (containing numbers for a code) scattered throughout the maze, with some requiring the player to search in odd places to find. The gameplay varies from one section to the next: For example, Desert contains three different styles of mazes with a center area connecting them. To complete the maze, the player must find the code room in one of the biomes and enter the 8-digit code.

Before the player can reach the main section of the maze, they must complete a mini-maze, in which they can see the creative world of Theta below them. Finding the exit allows the player to ride a stream of water to enter the main maze.

Completing the maze gives the player an opportunity to view a section of Theta, being teleported above the map.

Aesthetics

The starting maze consists of a simple palette of quartz and gold blocks, with a glass floor. Sea lanterns on the ceiling light up the maze.

Ice

The ice section is the simplest of the sections. The walls and floor are made out of snow, with a base of white wool. Some places within the maze have a ceiling of ice and packed ice.

Desert

The desert section contains three mazes: A temple maze, with walls made out of red sand and red sandstone, with a ground of glowstone, Acacia logs, and sandstone; a tree maze, where the player must maneuver around acacia trees and their leaves, and a sandstone maze, with walls of smooth and cut sandstone, and no roof. Connecting all these mazes is a circular room containing a hand-built palm tree, using composters as its bark.

Nether

The nether section is located in a netherrack cave. Glowstone, lava blocked by red glass, andnether wart blocks line the walls. Small structures of nether brick and its red variant are used as obstacles. The upper maze uses nether brick walls and a black glass ceiling.

End

The end section uses a variety of end blocks, including end stone, end stone bricks, and purpur blocks and its varients. The dark maze uses purpur blocks and lapis for the walls, as well as a black concrete ceiling and purpur pillar floor.

Challenges

This map is featured in two challenges: 2019 Assortment, and Hexa.
