Atonement is a pure parkour map by jasmine476. It rewarded 12 FFA Points upon completion when it was in FFA, and is currently featured in Hardcore.
General[edit]
Gameplay[edit]
The map involves parkouring up chains to achieve forgiveness. There are frequent choke jumps in the map and several variations on typical jumps like barrier and lantern sections. Some areas also require the player to figure out the path to the top of a structure, but most of the map uses spectral arrows to guide the player to the next jump.
Aesthetics[edit]
The map uses a lot of nether blocks, like crimson and warped planks, to create a hellish feel. Blocks except for these nether blocks are typically monotone, as the map uses a lot of stone blocks (polished deepslate, smooth stone, tuff, etc.) in the build. The big picture structures in the map are nether islands, chains, and mechanical devices like valves and gears.
Challenges[edit]
The base map is not featured in any challenges, as it is featured in Hardcore. Mimic: Atonement, however, is featured in 4 challenges: Escort In The Twilight, Wrapping Up Loose Ends, Hexa #3 Practice Pack, and Hexa Chapter III: New Heights. Since that map is a Mimic map, it is not in the Hexa challenge.
Trivia[edit]
- Atonement was built to be completable without taking damage. No challenges currently take advantage of this, however.
