Haydon Falls is a pure parkour map by Scylite that rewards 18 FFA Points when completed. Use "/join falls" to join the map directly.

General

Gameplay

This map features common advanced jumps like neos, 3x3s, and several difficult strafes. Variations of neos, like double neos, neups, and gapped neos, are frequent throughout the map. There are also a few slime block jumps, typically used at the start or end of sections. Most sections in the map are failsaved, with the main threat of death being fall damage in checkpoint 2.

There are three middle checkpoints. The first is at the beginning of the second cave the player enters. The second is two thirds of the way into a cave section with dripstone mushrooms and an abandoned railway. The third checkpoint is just past the teleport at the end of a cave featuring several neos and strafe jumps.

Aesthetics

The map takes place in a dark oak forest valley with large blue, purple, and brown mushrooms. The ground is overgrown with pumpkins, blue orchids, coarse dirt, moss, and azure bluets. The cliffsides are decorated with green wool and jungle leaf vines, and the cliff walls are made of stone, mossy cobblestone, andesite, and tuff. There are some areas where drainage pipes of green slime spill into the valley.

There are several houses in the valley. These are made of stripped spruce and dark oak wood for the base and oxidized copper with a dark prismarine trim for the roof. The main exception to this style of housing is the wizard tower at the end of checkpoint 3, which largely uses stone bricks, warped planks, and warped stems.

Board

Haydon Falls is used by Board to set the upper boundary for red/very hard parkour maps. Map publishing and change threads reference this map to determine if other parkour maps of similar difficulty should be red or black maps.

Challenges

This map is featured in 7 challenges: 2021 Assortment, Parkour Besties Deluxe, Pure Pain Marathon, Pure Pain Marathon - Deluxe, The Badder Lands, Hexa Chapter III: New Heights, and Hexa.

Trivia

  • There is a secret off to the side of the wizard tower on the floating islands. There is also a secret referencing Snake_Crumble.
