Woodwork is a pure parkour map by TENNK001 that rewards 0 FFA Points when completed due to being in Mount Minr. Greens can use "/join wood" to join the map directly.
General[edit]
Gameplay[edit]
Woodwork is a map featuring several difficult jumps that the player must complete to beat the map. There are three checkpoints throughout the map.
Aesthetics[edit]
The map takes place in a hallway with a U-turn. The bottom three blocks and ceiling are a patterned mix of gray, light gray, and brown terracotta, while the rest of the room is made of oak, spruce, and birch stairs.
Map History[edit]
Woodwork was submitted to Board June 28, 2016. Despite receiving several nerfs while on Board, there were still a consensus that the map was too difficult and needed aesthetic improvements, so the creator ultimately decided not to make further edits after October 2, 2016. Since there was no system in place at the time to display maps above FFA difficulty, it was given a Fairville plot and kept as a hidden FFA map that did not award points. For context as to the odd choice for this map's placement:
- The points system at the time did not have expert difficulty, which wouldn't become a difficulty until 2019.
- The hardest parkour maps at the time were considered maps like Agni, Planets, and Aqueous.
- The equivalent of Mount Minr for the time period, The Valley, didn't yet have an area for high difficulty maps.
Over time, Woodwork was grandfathered into the first Valley board for high difficulty maps and the eventual Summit area of Mount Minr.
Trivia[edit]
- The map has a cobweb jump that used to allow players to shift to the edge and perform a headhitter to complete the jump. This is no longer possible due to Minecraft updates, making the jump significantly harder.
