General[edit]

Gameplay[edit]

Scoville Sunset tasks the player with getting through three parkour sections to beat the map. Parkour includes standard jumps and lightning rods.

Aesthetics[edit]

The map is built in a valley with walls using a gradient of pale oak wood, ancient debris, mangrove planks, and red terracotta. The ceiling uses resin bricks and orange wool. The floor is made with waxed weathered cut copper, dark prismarine, stripped warped wood, warped wart blocks, green wool, and moss blocks. Cactus flowers, pitcher plants, and crimson fungi decorate the landscape.

There are several different common mobs throughout the map: squids, sniffers, and striders. Squids have a gradient outfit and lines of dialogue when clicked, sniffers have odd names, and striders have alliterative names.

Challenges[edit]

This map is featured in 1 challenge: Hexa.

Build History[edit]

"Originally, this started as a project to create a white map to have a shorter project than Skullerful - Caterpillar. The initial idea was for players to dodge traps and obstacles in a pyramid temple of some sort to reach the end. After experimenting with dispensers and arrows for a little bit, I decided they were too janky to use the way I wanted, and so I pivoted to general traps.

After building the starting area and a little bit of the first room with an odd palette, it became clear that putting traps in it would be strange. Not wanting to tear it down, I turned the area into a short parkour segment which would use lightning rod parkour to distinguish itself from other similar maps. I tried to use Mystic Cavern as a base for how many jumps should be in the map, though it clearly went overboard and became a blue map. I really like how the aesthetics came out, and I think it will be interesting for speedruns as well!"
