General
Gameplay
Players must solve 7 puzzles of increasing difficulty to beat the map. The objective of each puzzle is to light up all of the tiles in a grid, and each square has a number on top signalling how far the next square can be. Yellow and blue tiles mechanics are added to the mix as the map progresses.
Aesthetics
The map takes place in a tech lab with lots of lightning rods, copper grates, redstone lamps, quartz, stone, and gray concrete. Puzzle rooms are tall, with the occasional option to climb to the second floor of individual rooms. Rooms gradually begin integrating black blocks the closer the player is to the end, with the final room being made with a large amount of blackstone and deepslate bricks.
Challenges
This map is featured in 2 challenges: 2024 Assortment and Hexa.
Trivia
- The Power Grid was one of six jasmine476 maps released on the same day at the end of 2024. The others were Deep Dungeon Delve, Initiation, Decrepit Halls, Manufactured Movement, and Restricted Access.
- The Power Grid shares an unfinished project build room with Decrepit Halls, Manufactured Movement, and Restricted Access. Each of the four sister maps have mapcodes starting with jti (JasTech Incorperated) for this reason.
- The Power Grid was inspired by a puzzle in the Professor Layton series (Professor Layton and the Last Specter - Puzzle 150: Lily Pad Leapfrog)
