General

Story

You appear on an island, with the only signs of life caked in a layer of snow. All you have at your disposal is a map. Can you find the mysteries of the island?

Gameplay

Frozen in Time is essentially split into two different search sections, both containing parkour elements. The objective of each is to find various things in a large environment. Despite being part of the same map, the two searches are almost diametrically opposed in their presentation. A mid-checkpoint exists between the two sections.

Aesthetics

The island uses a variety of blocks one would see in a taiga, from different ice variants to large helpings of snow, along with muted blues and greys in the environment. Various attractions of interest jut out of the ground containing more urban materials, though these are more sparsely laid out. Trees dot the land which have a gradient from a cyan base to a light grey tip on top.

The second section of the map is made of large cylinders and wires in the ceiling, full of copper, andesite, light blue blocks, and more. The lighting in this area is dim, and movement through the section is more difficult than before.

Challenges

This map is featured in one challenge: Hexa.

Trivia

  • Frozen in Time uses an automatic resource pack (the map prompts the player with the pack upon joining it) to change multiple block textures and create various 2D and 3D models that are seen throughout the map, with the most evident being the change in color for amethyst clusters.
