General[edit]
Gameplay[edit]
The player must obtain all 65 non-hidden items and find all 13 areas in the map to complete it. The player is given a book listing all of the items in found areas that the player has collected for convenience. Even though several sections contain multiple items at the end of the same gameplay, each item typically brings the player back to the central room, so replaying the same sections multiple times is required.
Aesthetics[edit]
The aesthetic of the map varies greatly area to area, mostly featuring boxes with a theme related to the blocks the player can find in that area. For example, the jungle is a jungle-themed area where most natural blocks are collected, such as dirt and lilypads.
Sub-Maps[edit]
There is a harder search requiring all secret items and areas in Resource Parkour to be found to complete: Resource Parkour Secret.
Challenges[edit]
This map is featured in 4 challenges: 2020 Assortment, Sightseeing 2021, Hexa Chapter II: The Renaissance, and Hexa.
History[edit]
Resource Parkour is a location of major historical importance, as it is where mapmakers went to get materials needed for building maps before Theta was created in 2017. The area began with most of the natural blocks players needed for maps split across five different areas. As mapmaking continued, more areas, including secret areas, were added onto the existing rooms to create a complicated web of routing needed to get to each of the different resources in Resource Parkour. Several different staff members contributed to making these rooms, which a general trend towards increasingly difficult gameplay for the later additions.
Upon the release of Theta, Resource Parkour was closed and made inaccessible. It stayed in limbo until being picked up by Alphaesia to turn it into a map. He scripted the book system and item collection functions for the map and tasked rmanimal with scripting all of the items themselves. Close to the server's tenth anniversary, Resource Parkour was released to the public once more as a map without going through the Board process.
Trivia[edit]
- Resource Parkour sections were added onto and modified by several different staff members over the years. These include Ajdj123321, MOUTHWEST, Mathwiz592, pieceofcheese, awkward_hamster, Zatharel, Zombie_Kiler, henniboy321, and rmanimal.
- A room for the Totem of Undying exists in an unfinished state due to Theta coming out before it was finished.
