Space Mission is a pure parkour map by eagg2112. It rewards 7 FFA Points upon completion, and can be joined directly using “/c join spcm”.
General
Story
You must pass training to qualify for going out into space. Once you have the qualifications, you are sent out to identify a mysterious large, floating object.
Gameplay
Space Mission begins in a space ship, and immediately transitions to a parkour hallway (supposedly a simulation) where the player must jump over lava with only a 3-block high ceiling. This section is immediately followed by ascending jump boost parkour where death via fall damage is a real threat. When the map was first published, the top of this section didn't contain jump boost but, possibly due to beacon updates, the jump boost is retained even a little bit into the final section. The final and largest section sends the player into "space" where they are required to jump across floating blocks and planets to reach the end.
Aesthetics
The spaceship and jump boost parkour are made of iron blocks(?). The simulation hallway is nether-themed, being made solely out of nether brick and lava. Space is surrounded by black wool to make it seem like the real thing, with the parkour platforms being glowstone "stars."
Challenges
This map is featured in four challenges: Deep Space Dive, 2012 Assortment, The Path of Heroes, and Hexa.
Trivia
- Space Mission is considered the lower yellow difficulty boundary map, meaning it is seen as the easiest 7-point map.
