A Sinking Feeling is a pure parkour map by Sulldas. It rewards 18 FFA Points upon completion, and can be joined directly using “/c join asf”.
General
Story
Dave is stuck in a pit in a cave and it's your job to venture to the police station and get him some help!
Gameplay
The gameplay of the map revolves largely around slime jumps and vine jumps. Players will have to orient themselves correctly and hit slimes in the perfect spot in order to stick the landing.
Aesthetics
This map takes an naturalistic approach to its aesthetic design. It uses many blocks for its leaves, like stained glass and green wool. After the first section, fire is introduced to add extra layers of intensity to the map. Later on in the map there are cars made out of concrete and wool, with other city-esque objects: pieces of roads, sidewalks and water in spots with the final area being beneath the police station. As well as the block aesthetics, there are also people all around, who give dialogue when interacted with.
Challenges
This map is featured in 2 Challenges: 2019 Assortment and Hexa.
Trivia
- The difficulty of the map was frequently contested, always toeing the line between orange and red. Finally, in late 2020, Sulldas took the map out to make aesthetic changes, as well as removing saturation, which made the map difficult enough to warrant a red rating.
