The map begins with one-jump parkour gameplay. As the player gets further into the map, some rooms begin having longer sections with slightly less difficult jumps akin to other maps in this map's series.

=== Aesthetics ===
The map is made of different rooms connected by black concrete hallways.
* The first room has birch walls with different stone gray blocks in the center.
* The second room is jungle themed with waterfalls on the lower sides of the walls and two jungle tree pillars in the middle.
* The third room is snow themed with stone brick walls and a taiga area, including an igloo.
* The fourth room has dark walls outlined in quartz with floating stained glass rings.
* The fifth room is themed like a tropical coast with prismarine walls, sand, and a pool.
* The sixth room has nether brick blocks along with magma and other red blocks.
* The seventh room is in an underwater cave with the parkour area being inside a large rib cage fossil.
* The eighth and final parkour room is end themed with black and purple spikes.
* The credits room is designed with cyan terracotta, acacia wood, and crimson highlights.

Oculus v2 is the second of six maps in the Oculus [[Map Series|map series]]. The first three were created over time to become a trilogy, while the fourth and fifth maps were made for [[Mount Minr]].
