Calamity is a mixed maze map with parkour by Bird_Obsession. It rewards 7 FFA Points upon completion.

General
Gameplay
Calamity is split into two distinct sections. The player spawns in an abandoned house where they are able to enter the first maze: a three block wide trek around ruined city walls to find a door, as well as how to open it. This maze is the easiest section in the map, as well as the least time consuming.

The second section of the map is made up of tall skyscraper-esque buildings and smaller hedge mazes encompassing the outside of the map. This section, being as massive as it is, takes a long time to complete. However, the path is somewhat straightforward, lowering the difficulty by a small margin.

Once the player completes the map, they are able to click the end sign, or set an optional checkpoint allowing them to explore the map from a new perspective.

Aesthetics
The entire map is located above bedrock level in the nether. It mainly uses a gray and green palette, with both shades of nether brick thrown in for extra variety. The main textures used are stone variants, notably stone brick.

The interiors of the buildings are all meant to appear unique. No two rooms have the same detail and design, adding to the complexity of the map's aesthetics.

Challenges
This map is featured in 1 challenge: 2020 Assortment.

Trivia
*Calamity's mechanic of allowing the player to explore after beating the map was inspired by Ember Island, a map by AverageIPA.
*Calamity is Bird_Obsession's first and only map currently in FFA+.
Dimensional Collision is a pure parkour map by chayos that rewards 25 FFA Points when completed. Use "/join dmc" to join the map directly.
General
Gameplay
Dimensional Collision features a gravity mechanic, where lower sections have higher gravity that makes jumps shorter, and higher sections have lower gravity that makes larger jumps possible. A bossbar that appears during the map shows the current state of the player's gravity. There are five middle checkpoints, and the distance between checkpoints gets progressively longer.

Aesthetics
The map features two gigantic rifts, one below the playable area and one above. The lower rift uses blue, cyan, and light blue stained glass spirals with gray and black stained glass in between, and the upper rift has purple, orange, and red stained glass for the rift body instead. Most blocks that create the main path are made of deepslate variants, exposed copper trapdoors, end rods, beacons, and sculk veins.

Challenges
This map is featured in 3 challenges: Parkour Besties: New Generation, 2025 Assortment, and Hexa.

Trivia
Perilous is a mixed parkour map with search by leo_lazuli that rewards 25 FFA Points when completed. Use "/join pcp" to join the parent map, Precipice, and click the Perilous start sign to begin this map.
General
Gameplay
Perilous requires the player to get through the same areas as Precipice with two caveats. Firstly, Perilous forces the player to beat each of the sections without sprint. Secondly, the player cannot use any checkpoints. This turns the playthrough into a long form rankup style map.

Aesthetics
The map takes place in a valley with a giant several storey beige building built covering half of the area. The building itself is made mostly of beige, orange, and red blocks. There are several large rooms of interest in the building, such as the fountain room, dance hall, a library, and more.

The nature side of the valley is made of tall rocky cliffs with bridges and trees connecting different areas together. The cliff walls are made of gray blocks like andesite, light gray wool, tuff, and more. There are occasional brown splotches in the wall made of soul soil and mangrove wood as well. Trees use a large variety of green blocks in the leaves, including green stained glass and glass panes.

Parent Map
Precipice serves as the easier parent map for Perilous.

Challenges
This map is not featured in any challenges.

Trivia
*Despite not being the parent map, the parkour is designed more for Perilous than for Precipice due to this map's no-sprint restriction.
*At one point, the map was meant to receive a search involving talking to NPCs. This was later scrapped, and NPC dialogue was removed.
*There are several hidden heart heads throughout the map, the creator's signature secret.
Breaking Free 2 is a mixed parkour map with maze and puzzle by minty1111. It rewards 7 FFA points upon completion, and can be joined directly using “/join bf2”.

General
This map has many sections and is very long. This is the longest yellow parkour map on the server.
Story
You wake up for your first day at school, and take a ride there with your friend Triss. The day quickly turns sinister as the news of recent kidnappings plagues both the school and your nightmares. You soon find out the truth of the news as you are dragged to an evil facility. After a freak accident occurs, you must break free of the valley.
Gameplay
The gameplay consists mostly of navigating buildings with parkour, which includes normal, ladder, and soul sand jumps. There are occasional story cutscenes throughout the map.

Aesthetics
Breaking Free 2 consists of urban-style houses and a school in the first section. The majority of the map takes place in a valley with several key locations: a prison made mostly of stone-related blocks overgrown with leaves, a giant freezing river with lots of ice and snow, a dilapidated factory with a polished andesite base and quartz details, and a volcano that shapes the landscape into mostly bedrock, obsidian, and magma.

Challenges
This map is featured in 8 challenges: 2019 Assortment, Full House, Gang of Misfits, Pure Pain Marathon - Deluxe, The Great Escape, The Path of Heroes, Hexa Chapter II: The Renaissance, and Hexa.

Trivia
*This is one of the longest maps on the server and has one of the most robust stories for a non-adventure map.
*This map has had one of the longest development times of any map at the time, taking approximately three years for minty to make.
FFA stands for Free For All. It is a label representing most of the server's maps. It is named as a counterpart to Hardcore; where maps in Hardcore can only be played by blues, maps in the FFA are open to all (free, for all). Formerly located in the FFA Airship, the FFA currently resides in Star Spawn as part of the plan to unify it and the FFA in one area.

FFA+
Main Article: FFA+

FFA+ is another map classification meant to give spotlight to maps which are of exceptional quality and as such should be given better treatment than other maps classified FFA. The FFA+ maps are voted for by Greens+ in FFA+ ballots, which take place after a notable quantity of maps has been published. A complete list of all maps in FFA+ can be found here.
Ballots
FFA+ ballots are hosted every so often, usually by a server Admin. The ballot consists of two phases: nomination and voting.

During the nomination phase, ballot participants nominate maps they believe should be entered into FFA+. Any FFA classified map can be nominated, but a participant cannot nominate their own map(s), or map(s) that they've worked on significantly. Exceptions may be made for Community Projects, as they are usually made by over 5 people at a time. Each map may be nominated by more than one user -- this indicates these maps are popular choices for FFA+. Maps that have at least a distinct interest in nominations go to the next phase, which is voting.

During voting, participants vote either Yes, Neutral, or No for whether the maps nominated should be classified FFA+. Participants cannot vote Yes or No on their own maps and must instead vote Neutral. Maps that receive over a certain percentage of positive votes (usually around 60%-80%) will become FFA+ classified.

Board
Review Process
Firstly, maps are submitted on the forums for tracking purposes. This post includes checkpoint coordinates, the map name, its authors and similar.

When a player submits a map, they are expected to have already had the start, mid (if any), and end checkpoints already setup, and a region setup protecting the map with proper flags set. Once the map is confirmed to have all of these, a Board member sets the map to "On Board". At this point, all green+ players have the ability to leave reviews and comment on the map. This also opens up the map to reviews from members of The Board. The Board is composed of players that are devoted to reviewing maps and have a good grasp on what standards maps need to meet to get published. Once a board member reviews the map, one of three things happens:
* If the Board member thinks that the map is ready, they apply the prefix "Nominated". At this point, another board member needs to review the map. If they also agree that the map is ready for publishing, they apply the prefix "Approved" and it becomes published as a full map on the server.
* If the Board member sees that there are some definite areas for improvement or any bugs and/or escapes, the prefix is set to "Altering". When this happens, greens are still allowed to review the map, but the map creator is meant to make any changes that need to happen. If the map creator changes the map to an acceptable standard, a Board member changes the prefix to "Nominated" or "Approved".
* If the Board member thinks that the map will require substantial changes to make it acceptable, they apply the prefix "Reworking", and the creator must work on the map more to have its status changed.
* If the map will require a near-total rework to be acceptable or if the creator fails multiple times to fulfill the changes that board reviews lay out for them, especially after the map is given a "Reworking" tag, the map may be "Declined", and is not to be submitted again until a significant amount of work is done on the map.

For a more in-depth explanation of the review process, read The Board: Master Post.

Boundary Maps
When a map is set to be published, its difficulty is decided by looking at a group of set maps, known as boundary maps.

Parkour
Upper White: Mystic Cavern

Upper Blue: Athenai

Upper Green: Shroomville

Upper Yellow: Time Lab

Upper Orange: The Core

Upper Red: Haydon Falls
Parkour Difficulty Ceiling
Parkour maps must be considered approximately the same as or easier than Soulless to be approved for FFA. Whether a map meets that criterion is solely up to the discretion of Board. Board expects non-compliant maps to be nerfed to adhere to this guideline. Creators can elect to publish their maps to the Summit instead if they would prefer to preserve the difficulty of their maps.

Maze
Upper White: Windswept

Upper Blue: PrisMaze

Upper Green: Clocktower

Upper Yellow: Liminal 1: Scorched and Scattered

Upper Orange: Duat

Upper Red: Cosmic Core

Puzzle
There are no set boundary maps for Puzzles, as they are more subjective than parkour or mazes.

Adventure
There are no set boundary maps for Adventures, as there is a limited number of them and are often more subjective.
Trivia
*The Border Maps received an update in December of 2020 to better evaluate the borders.
*Before the board system as it is now, Green+ players would warp to board to leave map reviews by writing them in a book and quill. An admin would then compile the general feedback of these reviews for the map creators in a written book. As a result, many of these books still exist around Zero to this day.

Humongous Fungus is a mixed maze map by halex44. It rewards 7 FFA Points upon completion, and can be joined directly using “/join hum”.

General
Gameplay
The player starts by dropping down into a water hole, and then starting a climb up the inside of the massive fungus after which the map is named. The parkour is mostly split up into sections, though some jumps take you over areas that will cause you to lose significant progress if failed. After the top of the parkour is reached, the player must progress through a maze at the top of the shroom in order to reach the end.

Aesthetics
The shroom is made up of mushroom stems, with parkour taking place on glowstone blocks along with fences and ladders. The maze is made entirely of red mushroom blocks.
The Magic Tower is a pure puzzle map by Iananth66. It rewards 25 FFA Points upon completion, and it can be joined directly by running "/join tmt".

General
Story
The player, a prisoner, are contacted by an archmage to become a pupil. As a test of worthiness, they must complete several trials meant to test skills that the archmage needs in a pupil.

Gameplay
This puzzle map focuses on figuring out the correct sequence of doors and keys that are needed to get from the start to the finish. The eight proper levels give the player a level map and starts them in the beginning area of the puzzle. In this starting area there is also an undo button. Because the map is scripted to allow for multiplayer, there is also a plate at every key and door to refresh that object to the correct state (collected/uncollected, opened/closed) for the player that steps on it.

Aesthetics
Doors and keys have a consistent aesthetic throughout the map. Keys use banners and stand on a storage ore block (e.g. iron blocks), and doors use stained glass and a storage ore block for the frame. The storage ore block represents either how many keys a banner will give or how many keys the door requires. There are also special keys and doors later on that follow these aesthetic principles.

Each of the eight levels also has their own unique aesthetic.
*Level 1 is wood themed, using acacia, oak, and dark oak.
*Level 2 is ocean temple themed with lots of prismarine and glass in the floor, with water and coral block variants beneath it.
*Level 3 is mostly white with orange highlights using quartz, clay, iron bars, orange concrete, and concrete powders.
*Level 4 is nether fortress themed using nether bricks, soul sand, netherrack, and lava.
*Level 5 uses sand, sandstone, lapis, and blue concrete powder.
*Level 6 has a construction-like hazard design to the walls with yellow and black concrete powder. The rest of the halls here use grays like andesite.
*Level 7 is crypt themed, with mossy cobblestone, webs, and a mix of dirt paths and podzol for the floor.
*Level 8 is themed after The End, with purpur, shulkers boxes, and end rods throughout.

Challenges
This map is featured in 2 challenges: The Pure Puzzle Marathon and Hexa.

Trivia
*The Magic Tower was used as the bypass map for Hardcore version 11.0. It was replaced in version 11.1 by Framed.
*Level 8 is infamously difficult, so much so that several people designed solvers to complete it instead of reaching the solution themselves.
*This map was submitted for Puzzle Competition 2020, where it received 4th place.
*The Magic Tower is the earliest expert difficulty puzzle map to be accepted into FFA, and it was added to FFA+ February 7th, 2021, shortly after its publication.
