General[edit]
Gameplay[edit]
The map begins with a lengthy parkour section through a piano shop with several later portions of this area leading to large chunks of progress lost if the player falls. The player then has some parkour to complete leading up to the giant grand piano. Parkour in The Piano Room includes standard, trapdoor, ladder, head, and strafe jumps.
Once the player enters the piano, they need to solve a maze to progress. The final section tasks the player with searching for the end sign.
Aesthetics[edit]
The map begins in a monochrome city save for one building, Pete's Pianos, which is white and purple. Upon going down the stairs, the player reaches the main parkour area with dark oak floors, spruce plank walls, and redstone lamps. Parkour is done across pianos and daylight sensors across the multi-storey basement.
The second half of the map takes place in the void with a large build of a black grand piano and a seat for it. There are several 3D musical symbols, such as notes and clefs, floating around the area that the player parkours across.
Hardcore[edit]
The Piano Room was made as a part of mapmaking call for maps that would go into Hardcore 11.0. This map was one of the many chosen to be used for Hardcore, and was one of two choices for the second Endurance section map (HC-8-A) with the other being Mushroom Gorge. It remained this way for Hardcore 11.1.
This map was then used for Hardcore 12.0 in The Weave section. Only one route through The Weave includes this map: The Gwishin: Randomized into The Piano Room into Sssnake.
