Tarzan is a pure parkour map by Causland and datacat that rewards 0 FFA Points when completed due to being located in Mount Minr. Players with access to Mount Minr can use "/join tar" to join the map directly.

General

Gameplay

The map takes place in one room and tasks the player with parkouring from the ground to the top of a tower. The parkour circles the length of the room once and includes standard and vine jumps.

Aesthetics

The map's main room is built out of jungle leaves and logs for the walls, grass blocks for the floor (and a small coast area around the start with water and sand), and glass for the ceiling. Different kinds of trees sparsely dot the middle, including a fallen over tree, and three of the four walls have glowstone behind them to light up the area.

History

This map was put into FFA during the early period of the server when the FFA Airship was in use, originally being worth 3 points as a moderate difficulty map. The map suffered a couple of instances where vines grew beyond where they should over the years, but the parkour itself was kept mostly intact. One major change to the map was caused by the 1.14 update, which allowed holding space to climb vines instead of moving against walls and let players climb free-hanging vines.

The map was moved to The Valley in 2020. It was then put into the Archive when transitioning maps to Mount Minr.

Trivia

• The Tarzan room is built in a larger glass box which is visible through the only wall without glowstone behind it. There is a stone building within it that might have been intended to be a mob fighting map before being abandoned.
• Players can see Apoco looking west through the roof. Other maps in the surrounding build area include Park School, Element Parkour, Black & White, and Doodle Jump.
